jumper

Long-sleeved woollen top reaching to the waist or below. During the 1940s short waist-length designs were popular, often worn as part of two- or three-piece outfits. In the 1950s looser and longer jumpers became popular. Today jumpers of all shapes and sizes are mass produced, often in bright colours and with bold designs.

In computing, rectangular plug used to make connections on a circuit board. By pushing a jumper onto a particular set of pins on the board, or removing another, users can adjust the configuration of their computer's circuitry.
