klipspringer

Small African antelope. It reaches about 60 cm at the shoulder and males weigh about 10 kg; females are heavier, weighing 13 kg. Klipspringers are browsers, feeding on leaves, berries, flowers, and seed pods and can survive for long periods without water. They are common in rocky or mountainous areas in the Ethiopian highlands, Namibia, and Angola.

Klipspringers pair monogamously, a rarity in mammals. They scent-mark their territory by rubbing secretions from glands just below the eyes onto twigs and rocks
