Cisco

City in Eastland County, north-central Texas, USA, 68 km/43 mi east of Abilene; population (2000) 3,900.

Settled in the 1850s, it was a ranching centre before a 1918 oil boom. The Mobley Hotel (1916) was bought in 1919 by Conrad Hilton, becoming the first of his chain; it is now a community centre. Cisco Junior College was founded in 1909.
