largo

Musical tempo indication for a slow movement denoting a broad style as much as a slow pace. See also larghetto.

Largo

City in west-central Florida, on the Pinellas Peninsula, adjacent to Clearwater; population (1990) 65,700. A citrus-producing centre since the 1880s, it is increasingly a retirement and resort community, with some business offices. It has many recreational facilities, and holds an annual Renaissance Festival.

Largo

Suburb in central Maryland, 19 km/12 mi east of Washington DC; population (1990) 9,599. It has large shopping centres and much parkland, and is the seat of Prince George's Community College (1958).
