ventricle

In zoology, either of the two lower chambers of the heart that force blood to circulate by contraction of their muscular walls. The term also refers to any of four cavities within the brain in which cerebrospinal fluid is produced.

Laryngoceles arise as a result of a herniation of the saccule of the laryngeal ventricle of Morgagni secondary to a prolonged increase in intraglottic pressure.
A laryngeal saccule is a small diverticulum arising out of the laryngeal ventricle.
Direct laryngoscopy detected a submucosal bulge in the left aryepiglottic fold that extended into the laryngeal ventricle (figure 1).
