Any of various insects about 10 cm/4 in long, with a green or brown, flattened body, remarkable for closely resembling the foliage on which they live. They are most common in Southeast Asia. (Genus Phyllium, order Phasmida.)

Leaf insects are related to walking sticks and mantises.
