Arbutus| Town in Baltimore County, central Maryland,; population (1990) 19,800. It is situated to the southwest of the Baltimore city line. It is an older Baltimore suburb consisting of row and single-family houses and apartments, with some recent developments and several small industries. The University of Maryland's Baltimore County campus (1963) is to the west. |
