malabsorption syndrome

In medicine, a range of diseases that are characterized by impairment of absorption of essential nutrients from the gastrointestinal tract, for example coeliac disease and cystic fibrosis. Symptoms of malabsorption syndrome include anaemia, diarrhoea, and weight loss.
