The Warwick University graduate, who studied maths and statistics, is just one of six Brits to bluff their way onto the high-profile contest, which reaches its climax on Tuesday.
Born in Nottingham, but representing Wales and Sale Harriers, Julie arrived in Birmingham 10 years ago to study at university where she obtained a masters degree in maths and statistics.
With an MSc in maths and statistics from Newcastle University, Chris has topped up his skills in more vocational learning, thanks to Explain Research, which supported him through his selected subject.
