megavitamin therapy

The administration of large doses of vitamins to combat conditions considered wholly or in part due to their deficiency.

Developed by US chemist Linus Pauling in the 1960s, and alternatively known as ‘orthomolecular psychiatry’, the treatment has been claimed to be effective against addictions, schizophrenia, and depression.
