mohair |
Also found in: Dictionary/thesaurus, Medical, Encyclopedia, Wikipedia | 0.02 sec. |
mohairYarn made from the long, lustrous hair of the Angora goat or rabbit, loosely woven with cotton, silk, or wool to produce a fuzzy texture. It became popular for jackets, coats, and sweaters in the 1950s. Commercial mohair is now obtained from cross-bred animals, pure-bred supplies being insufficient to satisfy demand.
