Loss of resources during a process. Wastage may be inevitable during a production process or it may be a result of poor production processes or poor workmanship involving unnecessary reworking. Other examples of wastage include goods that pass their sell-by-date and damaged goods that are subsequently sold at a discount. In terms of human resources, wastage refers to staff turnover.
