nausea

In medicine, a feeling of sickness and a desire to vomit. It is a symptom of a wide range of diseases, such as gastrointestinal infections and motion sickness.

Nausea can occur as an adverse reaction to some drugs that irritate the gastrointestinal tract, such as ibuprofen, and can be very severe in patients receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy to treat cancer. Nausea often occurs during the first three months of pregnancy when it should not be treated on a routine basis.
