noble gas structure

Configuration of electrons in noble gases (rare gases): helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, and radon.

This is characterized by full electron shells around the nucleus of an atom, which render the element chemically inert. Any ion, produced by the gain or loss of electrons, that achieves an electronic configuration similar to one of the noble gases is said to have a noble gas structure.
