occupational psychology

Study of human behaviour at work. It includes dealing with problems in organizations, advising on management difficulties, and investigating the relationship between humans and machines (as in the design of aircraft controls; see also ergonomics). Another area is psychometrics and the use of assessment to assist in selection of personnel.
