Parade

Ballet in one act by Erik Satie (scenario by Jean Cocteau), produced in Paris at the Théâtre de Châtelet, on 18 May 1917, with Diaghilev's Ballets Russes (curtain, décor and costumes by Pablo Picasso, conductor Ernest Ansermet). A suite for piano (for four hands in six movements) was published from the ballet in 1917.

Paraders marched past Birmingham's Lord Mayor Councillor Michael Wilkes before going into the chamber to be presented with medals to commemorate the day.
