pastor

Bird of the starling family Sturnidae, genus Sturnus roseus, order Passeriformes. The adult bird has a long crest which, like the head, neck, and throat, is glossy violet-black; the back, shoulders, and undersurface are a delicate rose-pink, and the wings and tail a greenish-black. It breeds mainly in southwest Asia and winters in India.
