Chemical derived from the processing of petroleum (crude oil).

Petrochemical industries are those that obtain their raw materials from the processing of petroleum and natural gas. Polymers, detergents, solvents, and nitrogen fertilizers are all major products of the petrochemical industries. Inorganic chemical products include carbon black, sulphur, ammonia, and hydrogen peroxide.
