dermatitis

Inflammation of the skin (see eczema), usually related to allergy. Dermatosis refers to any skin disorder and may be caused by contact or systemic problems.

The clinical name for the condition is phytophotodermatitis (PPD), sometimes called phototoxic dermatitis [see inset photo on previous page].
And some substances cause a problem after sunlight exposure, bringing on phototoxic dermatitis.
