poison oak

Any of several North American subspecies of poison ivy Rhus radicans. Poison oak always grows as an erect shrub (to 10 in/25 cm tall) with three-parted leaves that are usually blunt-tipped and hairy on both sides. The irritating effects to humans are similar to those of poison ivy.
