power series

Infinite series of the general form:

a0 + a1x1 + a2x2 + a3x3 + ... + anxn + ..

This is called a power series in x. Examples of power series are the exponential series:

ex = 1 + x + x2/2! + x3/3! + ..

the logarithmic series, and the series for the trigonometric functions (sine, cosine, and tangent).
