Form of delegated legislation exercised in Britain by ministers under existing statutory powers, but which must be confirmed by the passing of a Provisional Order Confirmation Bill. They apply particularly to powers granted to individual local authorities which would otherwise have to be granted by means of private bills promoted by the local authority concerned.
