Pulp Fiction

Cult film made in the USA in 1994. Directed by Quentin Tarantino and written by Tarantino and screenwriter Roger Avary (1965– ), the film became a commercial and cult success, winning the coveted Palm d'Or award at the Cannes Film Festival in 1994, and an Academy Award for Best Screenplay and two BAFTA awards in 1995. The film comprises four related stories from the gangster underworld, and is characterized by extreme violence accompanied by black humour, with a menacing undertone.

Pulp Fiction is credited with reviving the career of John Travolta, and also included star performances from Samuel L Jackson, Uma Thurman, Bruce Willis, Harvey Keitel, and Tim Roth.
