Scheme where an entrepreneur sells a franchise to another party, together with the goods necessary to carry out the business, the franchisee then does the same, and so on. The result is that the company or individual at the top of the pyramid sells a lot of stock and makes money, while those further down the chain are left with surplus stock and often lose money. In many countries the practice is illegal.
