Exochorda x macranta 'The Bride' has to be the whitest flower of any one I know and the larger type racemes show themselves off so well on the long, slightly cascading stems of this large shrub.
You can appreciate the long-hanging racemes so much better and this also works well with closely related wisteria.
Then, every January, it produced pale yellow racemes of flowers with a pleasant, light fragrance, however hard the weather.
