rampion

Biennial plant Campanula rapunculus in the family Campanulaceae, with long, white radish-like roots and small, pale-blue flowers. The leaves are occasionally used as a winter salad. The plant was introduced to Britain from Europe.

The round-headed rampion Phyteuma tenerum, and the spiked rampion P. spicatum, of the same family, occur in southern Britain.
