reactance

Property of an alternating current circuit that together with any resistance makes up the impedance (the total opposition of the circuit to the passage of a current).

The reactance to an alternating current of frequency f of an inductance L is 2πfL and that of a capacitance C is 1/2πfC. Reactance is measured in ohms.
