redshank

Wading bird Tringa totanus of northern Europe and Asia, a type of sandpiper. It nests in swampy areas, rarely in Europe, since most redshanks winter in the south. It is greyish and speckled black, and has long red legs.

Beyond the garden other birds to see include two North American long-billed dowitchers at Connah's Quay NR, where up to 13 spotted redshanks and 5,000 black-tailed godwits feed.
The event, which is especially targeted towards farmers with lapwing, snipe, curlew or redshank on their land, starts at 10am on Monday, August 17.
It will create an ideal place for bird species such as lapwing, redshank and snipe to thrive, as well as otters and water voles.
