Regulus

Brightest star in the constellation Leo, and the 21st brightest star in the sky. First-magnitude Regulus has a true luminosity 100 times that of the Sun, and is 85 light years from Earth.

Regulus was one of the four royal stars of ancient Persia marking the approximate positions of the Sun at the equinoxes and solstices. The other three were Aldebaran, Antares, and Fomalhaut.
