right livelihood

In Buddhism, aspect of the Eightfold Path that concerns earning one's living appropriately. A Buddhist's livelihood should not go against the teachings of the Buddha. For example, Buddhists should not become soldiers or butchers because harming others or killing animals is forbidden. Buddhists are not allowed to make a living from their religion, so monks are not allowed to beg.
