Roselle

Town in Cook and Du Page counties, northeast Illinois; population (1990) 20,800. It is a residential suburb, 43 km/27 mi northwest of Chicago.

Roselle

Town in Union County, northeast New Jersey; population (1990) 20,300. It is located 5 km/3 mi west of Elizabeth. Separated from Linden in 1890, it was at one time the site of the laboratory of the US scientist and inventor Thomas Edison, and became the world's first community to be illuminated by electric street lights. Today it is a largely residential suburb. It also manufactures pumps, luggage, furniture, machinery and metal products, and has numerous warehouses.
