Round Table

In British legend, the table of the knights of King Arthur's court. According to tradition, they quarrelled for precedence and a round table was designed so that all could sit equally.

The Round Table features in the prose Grail romances, and has been associated with the table used at the Last Supper of Christ. It had one vacant place, the ‘Siege Perilous’, or ‘dangerous seat’, awaiting the arrival of the Grail hero Galahad.
