Sandy| Town in Bedfordshire, England, on the River Ivel, 12 km/7 mi east of Bedford; population (2001) 10,900. Sandy has some light industry and there is market gardening nearby. Many Roman relics have been excavated in the neighbourhood, and it is thought that the town may be the Roman Salinae. |
