sarcoma

Malignant tumour arising from the fat, muscles, bones, cartilage, or blood and lymph vessels and connective tissues. Sarcomas are much less common than carcinomas.

1) Synovial sarcoma is a highly aggressive subtype that accounts for only 3% of all sarcomas in the head and neck region.
The phase III study involved 341 patients being treated at several centres in Europe and the US between July 1997 and November 2006 for locally advanced soft tissue sarcomas that were at high risk of recurrence and spread.
Ewing''s sarcoma is another type of bone cancer, type of cancer being primary.
