sidereal time

In astronomy, time measured by the rotation of the Earth with respect to the stars. A sidereal day is the time taken by the Earth to turn once with respect to the stars, namely 23 hours 56 minutes 4 seconds. It is divided into sidereal hours, minutes, and seconds, each of which is proportionally shorter than the corresponding SI unit.
