sitatunga

Herbivorous antelope Tragelaphus spekei found in several swamp regions in Central Africa. Its hooves are long and splayed to help progress on soft surfaces. It grows to about 1.2 m/4 ft high at the shoulder; the male has thick horns up to 90 cm/3 ft long.

Males are dark greyish-brown, females and young are chestnut, all with whitish markings on the rather shaggy fur.
