ska

Jamaican pop music, a forerunner of reggae, mingling the local calypso, mento, with rhythm and blues. Ska emerged in the early 1960s (a slower style, rock steady, evolved in 1966–68) and enjoyed a revival in the UK in the late 1970s. Prince Buster (1938– ) was an influential ska singer. A fascination with the beginnings of Jamaican music continued well into the 1990s.

In the late 1980s the term skacid was coined for a speeded-up ska with rap and electronic effects.

They saw Ska dive and rise again to continue his ominous circling and in these movements their woodcraft read that which, while obvious to Sheeta, would doubtless have meant nothing to you or me.
