Skerries

The resort town of Skerries, lying 27 km/17 mi north of Dublin, is packed with visitors' cars. The town has pleasant beaches and parks, and a Martello tower stands on the front.

Seaside resort and fishing port in County Dublin, Republic of Ireland, 29 km/18 mi north of Dublin; population (2002) 7,600. Some 3 km/2 mi south of Skerries are the ruins of Baldongan Castle, and on St Patrick's Island, one of three small islands opposite Skerries, are the ruins of an early church.
