Spiderman

Comic-strip character created by US cartoonist Stan Lee 1952. Bitten by a radioactive spider, Spiderman finds himself able to climb walls, dangle from ceilings, and spin webs – all useful skills in tackling underground criminals. Spiderman's alter-ego is shy college student Peter Parker, a reporter for the New York Daily Bugle. He first appeared in the British comic Pow 1967, and made television appearances in the 1960s and 1970s. Spider-Man, a highly successful film featuring the character, was released in 2002.
