story board

In film and television, technique for reviewing a particular story or scene before it is expensively filmed, animated, or scripted.

The scene is broken down into key frames or moments, and sketched in varying detail onto boards with accompanying text outlining the plot's progress. In computing, a story board may be used to plan a Web site before it is created, enabling the content of pages and links between them to be planned in a logical structure.
