subnotebook

In computing, a portable computer, usually a PC-compatible, that is smaller than a notebook computer but larger than a handheld computer. Subnotebooks often leave out features such as serial ports and CD-ROM drives.

LG goes smaller _LG Electronics is showing off its X110 Netbook, a smaller, core computing function-oriented subnotebook.
But not as frustrating as Apple's own failure to bring out a good subnotebook, oscillating between the iPhone and the MacBook.
For me, the subnotebook became real only in the past couple of weeks with Hewlett-Packard's announcement that it will soon offer the HP 2100 Mini-Note PC starting at $499.
