In music, a direction used in two senses: either to indicate that one movement of a composition is to follow the preceding one immediately (equivalent to Italian attacca); or to indicate that accompanying parts are to follow a vocal or other solo part moving independently of the prescribed rhythm or tempo (equivalent to Italian colla parte).
