Platyrrhini

New World monkeys, including the the families Callitrichidae (marmosets and tamarins) and Cebidae (including capuchin, spider, and howler monkeys). The term is now rarely used.

Platyrrhines are characterized by having nostrils that are widely spaced and face sideways. Compare with the Old World Catarrhini.
