susceptibility| In physics, ratio of the intensity of magnetization produced in a material to the intensity of the magnetic field to which the material is exposed. It measures the extent to which a material is magnetized by an applied magnetic field. Diamagnetic materials have small negative susceptibilities; paramagnetic materials have small positive susceptibilities; ferromagnetic materials have large positive susceptibilities.
