tenchEuropean freshwater bony fish Tinca tinca, a member of the carp family, now established in North America. It is about 45 cm/18 in long, weighs 2 kg/4.5 lb, and is coloured olive-green above and grey beneath. The scales are small and there is a barbel at each side of the mouth. |
