Terminus

In Roman mythology, the god of land boundaries whose worship was associated with that of Jupiter in his temple on the Roman Capitol. His cult was reputedly introduced by Numa Pomplius, legendary king of Rome, who made everyone indicate the extent of their property with stones consecrated to Jupiter. Annual sacrifices were offered at these markers during the festival of Terminalia held on 23 February.
