thermocoupleElectric temperature measuring device consisting of a circuit having two wires made of different metals welded together at their ends. A current flows in the circuit when the two junctions are maintained at different temperatures (Seebeck effect). The electromotive force generated - measured by a millivoltmeter - is proportional to the temperature difference. |
