thrips

Any of a number of tiny insects of the order Thysanoptera, usually with feathery wings. Many of the 3,000 species live in flowers and suck their juices, causing damage and spreading disease. Others eat fungi, decaying matter, or smaller insects.

Then there's Gladiolas Thrip (Mackenzie Crook) a vampire teddy boy with a nose-shaped piece of ivory where his real nose should be, whose thuggish servants look like a cross between awerewolf and Hannibal Lecter.
We had characters such as the vampires Thrip (Mackenzie Crook) and Redlip (Martin Hancock), Mr Tibbs - a rat man played by Kevin McNally, and Gilgamel - the demon who features in episode two.
Cue the entrance of Mackenzie Crook - complete with a crooked beak attached to his face as the villainous vampire, Gladiolus Thrip - who leads a rabble of unsavoury characters.
