time-based competition

Concept of speed as a key competitive factor. Price and quality were once key competitive factors, but in the current business arena competitive pricing and excellent quality are a given. In the 1990s speed became the new competitive factor: through launching a company quickly and growing it quickly, bringing new products out first, delivering fastest to customers, and answering customer enquiries promptly, companies vied to be the fastest at every level of their business.
