Specialized hospital centre for the reception, resuscitation and initial treatment of critically injured patients. It is a high-technology facility served by specialists in trauma medicine and by representatives of other medical specialities whose expertise may be required, including orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons and anaesthetists.
